RULES& REGULATIONS 1. EMPLOYMENT The college is meant exclusively for working students. Therefore, every student who seeks admission should be gainfully employed and should submit an employment certificate on the letter-head of the employer. Admitted students should continue to be gainfully employed during the period of their study, failing which, their admission will stand cancelled. Further, any change in employment should be notified immediately, in writing, to the class teacher together with supporting documents. Submission of a false employment certificate will be taken serious cognizance of and may lead to dismissal. 2. ATTENDANCE A
value-based and disciplined approach to education implies that the students be
present on the campus on a day-to-day basis, not only attending all the lectures
but also participating in extra and co-curricular activities and availing themselves
of the facilities of the college. The college is meant for working students who
are keen on learning and developing themselves into all-round personalities. Junior college students are required to fulfil a minimum attendance of 75% while senior college and post-graduate students are required to fulfil a minimum attendance of 80% per month, failing which, the student's admission will stand cancelled for which the college will in no way be responsible. Parents / Guardians kindly note that it is thier responsibility to keep apprised of the attendance of their child/ward. The college, on its part, issues warning letters every month to those students whose attendence is below the required percentage. 3. EXAMINATIONS Students are required to attend all the tests, tutorials and examinations conducted during the year. Serious cognizance is taken of a student's performance at all college examinations. Poor performance at the term-end examination may result in a student not being granted terms. Malpractices of any kind will not be condoned and will result in serious action being taken. Journals and practical assignments must be completed and submitted within the stipulated period only. Further, the college requires that all students solve in the class itself three years question papers on the completion of the syllabus. Non?compliance of this requirement will disqualify the student from being permitted to appear for the final examination. It should be noted that solving the papers at home is not acceptable. 4. CLASS DISCIPLINE In order to facilitate the learning process, it is important that the students maintain absolute silence in class and speak only when permitted by the teacher. Non?compliance of this regulation will not be tolerated and will be penalised. Silence has to be observed even if there is no teacher in the class. Students should bring whatever stationery is needed. No borrowing is permitted in class. Cat?calls, eve?teasing or any other form of class indiscipline will result in immediate dismissal. 5. CELL PHONES Cell phones are not permitted on the campus. Any cell phone seen with a student (even if not being used) will attract immediate disciplinary action. In case parents /guardians /employers need to contact a student urgently they are requested to call the college office. (Phone 26351162) 6. IDENTITY CARD Each student must possess an Identity Card, which he/she shall always carry with him/her and produce it whenever called upon to do so by the competent authority concerned. Students should note that attempting to use forged identity cards or identity cards of previous years is a punishable offence that could lead to dismissal. 7. GENERAL CONDUCT
OFFICE TIMINGS The
office timings for visitor's are from 5 to 10 pm on any working day. The Principal
can be contacted between 5 and 6 pm only with prior appointment. Students and
parents/ guardians are requested to kindly note that the Principal will not be
available outside these timings. FREESHMS
AND SCHOLARSHIP Students
can avail of any Freeship or Scholarship instituted by the Government and other
bodies. Enquiries regarding the same may be made at the college office. The college
also grants a number of scholarships and concessions to meritorious and deserving
students. OUR
LIBRARY St.
Vincent's College Library prides in a collection of 10,100 books on Commerce and
other related subjects such as Management, Competitive Exams and of a general
nature. The Book Bank Scheme is very popular among the student community, since
they can borrow Textbooks on a yearly basis. Besides, library services include
library reading, home?lending, displaying of new arrivals and assisting in locating
documents etc. Emphasis is also given to building up the library with a qualitative
and rich collection and to encourage students to make optimum use of it. The library
system may soon be completely computerized. | |
